Planned Activities

• Opening ceremony in Market Square, Thursday, July 31, 6:00 p.m., featuring comments by the American Legion and Lake Forest Day Grand Marshall Captain James Lovell, USN, followed by Music in the Square by the Derrick Stout Orchestra. Recognize a veteran by personalizing a commemorative American flag to be displayed on top of the beach bluff.
• Historic exhibits around Market Square in shop windows, Thursday, July 31 through Wednesday, August 6
• Debut of the book "Lake Forest Day: 100 Years of Celebration," published by the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society, featuring 200 original photographs. Books will be sold at the week's events.
• Free outdoor movie night: Apollo 13, Friday, August 1, at Lake Forest College. Food and fun begin at 7:00, movie at 9:15 p.m. Enter the campus at College Road. Bring the family and your blankets; food and beverage available for purchase or bring your own.
• Fun at Forest Park Beach, Saturday, August 2, 5:30 - 10:00 p.m. The "Beach Ball" is SOLD OUT. For those who missed getting tickets, come enjoy a spectacular water ski show and fireworks at the south end of the beach. Bring a picnic dinner, blanket and/or chairs. Buses will transport people to and from the south end of the beach from the east side train station lot. Please park in the central business district and walk to the station to pick up the bus.
• Traditional carnival, food, and Beer and Wine Garden at West Park, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 5 and 6
• Expanded parade, Wednesday, August 6, 10:00 a.m., with Parade Marshall Captain James Lovell, USN, featuring neighborhood floats and several new and exciting marching bands (click here for more parade information)
